Prophecy Update #575 – Quds Day

We focus on Bible prophecy each week for about five-minutes, calling it a “Prophecy Update.”

Scholars say that of the 2500 or so prophecies in the Bible, there are approximately 500 prophecies of the End Times that are awaiting fulfillment.

We should be able to see things trending in the direction of those prophecies. For example: The Bible predicted that Israel, and Jerusalem in particular, would be incredibly troublesome politically in the End Times. It was to be expected; and it is obviously unfolding just as God predicted.

June 1st was Jerusalem Day. It is an Israeli national holiday commemorating the reunification of Jerusalem and the establishment of Israeli control over the Old City in the aftermath of the June 1967 Six-Day War. The day is officially marked by state ceremonies and memorial services.

It’s also ‘marked’ by anti-Semitism. For example: Muslim worshippers rioted after Jews were allowed on the Temple Mount on Jerusalem Day.

Excerpts from one article:

Jewish pilgrims were permitted to visit the Temple Mount on Jerusalem Day, coinciding with the last days of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, sparking riots. Muslim worshippers on the Temple Mount on Sunday threw chairs and stones at police forces there, after it was announced that nonMuslims would visit the site, according to the Israel Police. Some of the worshippers barricaded themselves in the Al Aksa Mosque and several were arrested. The police responded with what it called “riot control measures” to disperse the rioters.

The site usually is closed to non-Muslim visitors every year on the last days of Ramadan. It is the first time that Jerusalem Day and the last days of Ramadan have coincided in about 30 years.

Quds is the Arabic name for Jerusalem. Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramadan that was initiated by the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979 to express support for the Palestinians and oppose Zionism and Israel. It exists in opposition to the Jerusalem Day celebration instituted by Israel.

Iranians in the capital Tehran set fire to effigies of President Donald Trump, while in the Iraqi capital, Iran-backed militiamen marched over a large Israeli flag as part of rallies Friday marking Jerusalem Day.

One writer reminds us,

The most prominent sign of the end times… is the nation of Israel. In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state, essentially for the first time since AD 70. God promised Abraham that his posterity would have Canaan as “an everlasting possession,” and Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual resuscitation of Israel.

It’s exactly what you’d expect from reading the Bible.

Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.
It is presented in the Bible as an imminent (any-moment) event.

Then comes the seven-year great tribulation; then comes the second coming of Jesus Christ; then comes the 1000 year kingdom on earth; then comes the final judgment of all mankind; then comes eternity – with the Lord in Heaven, or without Him in conscious torment in the Lake of Fire.

Are you ready for the rapture? If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up. Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
