Prophecy Update #720 – Keeping Score

The only way to make sense of what is happening around the world today is to know what is going to happen tomorrow. God has seen fit to tell us a great many things about the future. There are hundreds of yet-to-be fulfilled prophecies in the Bible.

We reserve a few minutes Sunday morning to suggest news, or trends, that seem to be predicted by a literal, futurist reading of the Bible.

To avoid sensationalism, we are careful to use recognized, reliable sources for news.

We’re not saying the things we report are the fulfillment of prophecy. We’re saying that they are the things you’d expect to be happening in the build-up to the future seven year Great Tribulation.

The Mark of the Beast is described in the Revelation as, “a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

The totalitarian, global government of the antichrist will enforce its mandates by restricting what a person can buy or sell. This will affect every aspect of life.

We have been trending that way for some time. The COVID19 pandemic revealed how easy it is for government to mandate the behaviors they deem necessary, without regard to human rights. Almost overnight, there were only two groups of people in the world – the vaxed and the unvaxed. One was rewarded, one was punished.

It is a form of what is called social credit. You are rewarded for obeying mandates, but restricted and punished for disobeying.

Our own government is experimenting with other ways to implement social credit in order to control citizens. I read an article titled, Federal Reserve announces social credit system ‘exercise’ to ensure banks comply with ‘climate’ models.

Excerpts:  

The Federal Reserve has taken a major step in the direction of facilitating an ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliant monetary network that effectively acts as a parallel system to that of the Chinese Communist Party’s infamous social credit scoring system.

The banks involved in this pilot program are Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo.

Of course, it’s just a scenario, until it’s not. The Fed pilot program is set to launch in early 2023.^[1]

The opinion of the writer is, “The Fed is working with the big banks to monitor their ability to comply with the ruling class’s preferred enviro technocratic tyranny.”

Another article said,

Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics are a kind of social credit system designed to coerce businesses – and, by extension, individuals and all of society – to transform their practices. Investors and banks (and soon governments) use ESG to push businesses to change how they function, regardless of what the employees and customers of those businesses want.^[2]

In a nutshell, the government will mandate major changes in the way people live, and citizens will be forced to comply or be assigned a low social credit score as punishment. Their low score will severely restrict normal life.

During the seven years of the Great Tribulation, a person’s social credit score will reflect whether or not they have sworn allegiance to the antichrist. If they have not, they will be cut off from buying or selling, or traveling, and eventually they will be murdered.

No one knows how all this will pan out. All I am saying is that social credit is exactly what you expect from reading biblical prophecy.

We are witnessing the stage-setting for the seven year Great Tribulation that is described in the last book of the Bible. We will not, however, be on Earth during that terrible Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

The resurrection and rapture of the church are imminent. It could happen any moment; nothing needs to happen before it.

Jesus will come, in the clouds, and raise the dead believers of the Church Age.
He will transform the bodies of living believers to glorified, resurrection bodies.

We will join Him in Heaven while the earth endures one final seven-year campaign of severe evangelism.
