Welcome to another Prophecy Update in our ongoing series, examining how current global news and world events align with Bible prophecy and the return of Jesus Christ. In this installment, Prophecy Update #831: Skin In The Game, we look at one of the most sobering warnings Jesus gave about the End Times: “As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:37).
What exactly was so unique about the Days of Noah? Delving into Genesis 6, we discover a time of extreme wickedness marked by the unauthorized cohabitation between fallen angels (“sons of God”) and human women, resulting in the genetically tainted, powerful offspring known as the Nephilim (giants). According to ancient rabbinic teaching and the early Church Fathers, this was a period of catastrophic genetic tampering with the human race.
Fast-forward to today: are we seeing evidence of unprecedented genetic manipulation? We explore a stunning recent headline (BBC, Sept 30, 2025) detailing how scientists have created early-stage human embryos using DNA from human skin cells and sperm. This groundbreaking, never-before-achieved technique could revolutionize infertility treatment and, critically, allow same-sex couples to have a genetically related child, completely redefining the long-established natural process of reproduction.
Jesus predicted the very conditions we see unfolding now—a world increasingly marked by a departure from God’s created order. The reality of this technological advancement raises profound questions about the sanctity of life and the boundaries God established.
This is a critical signpost for those who study eschatology and Biblical prophecy. Our faithful study of God’s Word tells us that the convergence of these signs points to the soon coming of our Lord.
